Greetings friends and brothers,
When Jesus was here on earth, there were many people who were interested in his messages and his miracles. Many people were with him out of interest and that is why he was surrounded by many people.
Jesus always accepted everyone who wanted to follow him, but in several verses we read in the Bible that he asked them to leave everything and follow him.
Luke 5: 27-28
27 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him, 28 and Levi got up, left everything and followed him.
In our life there are occupations, distractions, things to which we have more love than to God. He wants us to leave everything and follow him so as not to distract our sight from his presence, so as not to distract our senses from his anointing.
To leave everything is to put God first, and the rest to leave it in the background. I’m not saying you shouldn’t work, you can work but that work does not hinder your relationship with God.
That is what it is about, that the most important thing in life and the first thing is God, and leave the rest in the background so that the relationship with God can grow and this is always in the first place.
